Developed web-based client/server applications for major clients using Java, JSP, JavaScript, Tomcat Servlets, HTML, Oracle RDBMS, SQL, and Borland Java IDE. Starting from square one, researched and selected web development technologies with technology learning curve requiring less than one month. Designed and built client side components and server side object model for large salary budget management system built on JRUN server architecture. Designed and implemented re-architecture to Tomcat and JSP individually, bringing in project on time, on budget, and with no user reported bugs.Implemented a custom data analysis program in Delphi for a client in the medical data analysis business. This program filtered data from the very large CMS MEDPAR (Medicare Provider and Analysis Review) Database supplied via multiple DVDs. Managed the design and implementation of a large intranet budget management system for a prestigious university using Tomcat, JSP and SQL Server.

Hired and managed an exceptional group of C++ software engineers, transforming the product base to support the new Microsoft VBA agent relationship. Managed 4 releases of PowerPack for C++, 2 releases of PowerPack for Visual Basic, and 10 releases of SBL to establish competitive advantage.

As hands-on manager of a small development team, developed WINPLUS Release 3.0, an Object-Oriented GUI application development and authoring tool similar to Sybase's GAIN MOMENTUM, originally designed as a cross-platform HyperCard superset. WINPLUS 3.0 was a redesign of version 2 using object-oriented technology. Personally responsible for technology transfer (from the original German development group), strategic planning, project management, product management, class library maintenance, and direct design and implementation of user-interface features and functions.

Built and managed an advanced development group to guide AIG in the effective use of emerging technologies for mission critical applications. Developed LAN platform, application architecture, and toolkit recommendations for Windows, SQL Server, and C++. Selected tools and applications for expert-systems technology. Managed a successful expert system pilot project. Initiated investment in object-oriented development technology. Evaluated products and recommended strategy in the use of OCR, image processing, optical storage, and text database systems.

Assumed responsibility for an acutely troubled VS Information Systems department of thirty people. Managed cancellation and withdrawal of two substandard DBMS products via parallel development and substitution of EZQUERY (a relational query language and DBMS run-time system), DMS/TX (a transaction recovery system integrated with the VS file system), and VS/Report (a WYSIWYG report program generator).Managed the development and release of PACE, an innovative RDBMS. PACE originated the concept of application development wizards, automating the development process by generating default forms and relationship navigation links from the database metadata, and supported extensive UI and logic customization using WYSIWYG direct manipulation techniques.Original development team member for the VS product line, responsible for the UI and non-kernel operating system components. Invented the Integrated Development Environment. Designed and developed the command processor and the symbolic debugger. Designed utilities, the procedure language, and several programming languages. Reviewed and debugged the OS and file system. Provided strategic planning for continuing product line evolution.
