I enjoyed 22 years service with Tayside Police and then completed my 8th and final year as part of the Police Service of Scotland. I carried out uniform beat duties in Perthshire and Angus but was predominantly based in Dundee during my service. I was also a member of Dundee CID for 5 years and was a Scene Manager for many years too.I also enjoyed serving on the Tayside Police Federation Joint Branch Board for 6 years where I helped represent my colleagues move through the transitional period from Tayside Police to the Police Service of Scotland .I was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2008 and was a full time Custody Sergeant based in the Custody Suite at West Bell Street, Dundee for 8 1/2 years until switching roles last December.My final role saw me oversee several projects currently ongoing within Custody, Dundee, and also nationally, including refurbishment work within the Dundee custody suite, Virtual Custody Court and Virtual Summary Trial projects and also managing timescales for the training and recertification of current officers and staff across the various centres within the Northern Hub of Police Scotland. I also carried out several interview processes for new staff joining the Division.I retired in mid December 2020 and worked briefly for Sainsbury's and then at the Procurator Fiscal's office but am now resuming my connection with Police Scotland as a Team Supervisor from August 2021 and am delighted to be back.
