• Created the position of Chief Financial Officer and brought all accounting functions under one department• Oversaw all aspects of the finances of the Agency which included: timely and accurate maintenance of all accounting records, donor records and loan management records; interfaced with financial institutions; pension plan administrators; insurance companies, as well as day to day accounting needs.• Streamlined the budgeting process; implemented monthly budget to actual reporting both internally and to board for the first time in agency’s history, enabling better financial decisions• Interfaced with the agency’s external auditors and managed the annual audit• Administered all Human Resources and personnel matters including compliance with current labor laws and pension plan administration.

Oversaw the functions of Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology and Administration Support Services departments which included a staff of 20 people.Created and instituted improved financial reporting, which included a tested and proven cash flow forecasting model; clearer reporting of monthly results to the board and significantly improved the budgeting processes. Devised a system for tracking of sales and returns in a $18M business and overhauled the method of costing inventory eliminating the need for the outside auditors to make material and problematic journal entries for the first time in many years.Operational improvements - Implemented policies and procedures and designed systems improvements throughout the Administration Support Services department, resulting in smoother running of the department and better interfacing with other departments within the company. Procured new major vendors as well as negotiated prices with other existing vendors. Worked in conjunction with the company's outside Information Technology consultant (who was the developer of the proprietary software used to run the company) to establish and implement a three-year I.T. Strategic Plan.Was intricately involved in preparing for and implementing a Reduction-in-force which reduced payroll costs by approximately 10% and the subsequent re-organization as a result of such.
