Event, key account management.I was the AV representative for several event companies and venues as well as bringing substantial new business to the company. I was in charge of annual live music events as well as many high profile clients including the NZ Prime Minister

I was responsible for assisting the introduction of digital cinema and the beginnings of High Definition Video. I also established a thriving Cinema Advertising business within Skytech Systems.I also traveled to New Zealand to install the very first Digital Cinemas as well as many new installations throughout New Zealand

My ability to problem solve under stressful situations came to play in this position. When you are at sea, 3.30am heading for a large Hurricane and the captain is relying on you to get the ship-shore communications re-establised as there are 5000 souls on board that depend upon on your outcome, you find out what you are made of, by the way, that was my second week ever on board a ship... Needless to say I became a valuable asset and ended up being dispatched around the fleet as a trouble shooter/fixer. I spent time on 7 cruise ships during this period and was responsible for maintaining shore communications, 2 satellite links, live onboard television broadcasting up to 27 channels into the staterooms, filming and editing events and onboard activities for turnaround broadcast, maintaining thousands of TV's VCR's videowall CRT's and running the whole Audio Visual department turned out to be one of the biggest challenges I have faced and one of the most rewarding.As Hotel Dept Management i sat on the Hotel Directors committees and was technical liason to the entire ship from the Captain down. I also implemented several fleet wide safety procedures after finding multiple inconsistencies between the fleet.I had an excellent rapport with both my immediate staff and the other management teams and keep many of them as close friends to this day.

From a spate of wildlife documentaries for some very well known environmentalists, DCFilms offered me the chance to travel and I have seen so much of Australia as a result. Diving at the barrier reef and chasing inland taipans in central queensland. DCF was run in conjunction with the Australian Wildlife Education Centre who also ran shows like "Snakes Alive" and live crocodile displays, gave us a chance to be in thick of some of the most amazing scenery and exciting wildlife on the planet.From editing, camera and sound, right through to marketing and sales. It was a great start into the broadcast TV industry and a stepping stone into my career.
