Adapting and problem solving in all aspects of the day to day operation of a late life North Sea asset. Have gained a broad range of experiences across production, maintenance and projects to help maximise production efficiency and overall profitability. Extending from my multi-disciplinary background, I readily contribute to the offshore team by providing optimisation support, fault investigations, operating procedures, subsea knowledge and hands-on operations work.

Since 2015, I have 'immersed' myself in the department of subsea operations, quickly building up a strong knowledge of Nexen's extensive subsea infrastructure. I've been heavily involved in the planning and execution of several high profile DSV activities ranging from IRM to decommissioning. As a job responsible engineer I have been exposed to tendering; costing/scheduling; procedures/isolations; third party legal/commercial agreements; procurement; and environmental permits. In both onshore and offshore environments I have proven my ability to learn, adapt and problem solve contributing to 'operational excellence' as part of our close-knit team.

Working part time on a progressive and forward thinking dairy farm; I furthered my experiences with agricultural machinery and the industry as a whole. My duties ranged from working with livestock to assisting in the construction of the new dairy setup, including a state of the art milking parlour. I also spent a great deal of time in the farm workshop broadening my understanding of machinery maintenance as well as using heavy metalworking machinery and welding.

Experienced first-hand the role of a reliability engineer within a large agrochemical production plant. I performed route cause analysis on pump failures and developed a preventative maintenance strategy for glass lined valves on vessels, based on mean-time-between failures calculations. I also spent time redesigning the capping system in the bottling plant on site, to allow for a safer more efficient line changeover, thus reducing the plants downtime and also the risk of incident.

Worked both independently and as part of a team installing world renowned automatic milking equipment in several locations across Scotland. I was also heavily involved in the design of housing for a herd of 60 cows on a new dairy enterprise. Since this placement I have kept in regular contact with the company and have continued to offer help during busy periods.

Completed two, 8-week placements with the company shadowing an operational technician on various projects within the electricity distribution network including new connections and faults. Also gained first hand experience in the planning of several capital projects by arranging site visits and meetings with landowners to effectively cost the projects and plan for maximum efficiency in their delivery.

Responsible for routine maintenance of seven quad bikes including vehicle inspections, non-scheduled repairs and tune-ups. Briefed customers on mechanical principles and safe operating techniques. Supervised activities and ensured that safety rules were adhered to for the benefit and welfare of customers. Assisted with safe control and storage of harmful substances such as petrol, engine oil, herbicides and cleaning agents.
