The Consultant/Project Manager position is a client face role within the Delivery Management practice of Capita IT Professional Services. As a consultant I will be required to work at client sites across the UK, remotely from Capita offices or from home depending on the situation. Consultant Project Managers are required to fulfil all types of PM activities from project initiation, planning and delivery. They will also be required to manage RAID and action logs, manage client stakeholders and report any project risks or issues to ITPS if necessary.

The Junior Project Manager/ PMO Consultant role is a external consultant position with the Delivery Management business unit within Capita IT Professional Services. This is a consultant position which requires excellent client facing skills and a broad range of Project Management expertise. The consultant will be required to take ownership for multiple end to end project processes, for example owning project planning, risk and issue management or project reporting. During the course of this type of role, it is expected that the consultant would be coached by the project manager to gradually take on a project leader role, and possibly managing a number of workstreams within a project.

The Project Management Office Analyst role within Capita ITPS is to provide project support to all Delivery Practices and Delivery Senior Management Team. This role has extended to supporting and managing the delivery if internal Capita ITPS projects and upgrades including the implementation of the Sales CRM system using the Salesforce Tool, deployment of SAP My Resource Planning module and assisting the Finance department from moving forward forecasting from manual spreadsheet to SAP. The Software Test Analyst role within the Capita Novus Graduate scheme included an initial 3 month training program that was designed to give all new members a grounding in the principles and methodologies of software testing. It included gaining the ISEB foundation certification, courses in various software languages including SQL and JAVA, learning the use of HPQC (software test management tool) and soft skills to aid working in a professional IT environment. After the training each new Novus Software Test Analyst is placed with one of Capita's clients to work on their projects. These clients can range from companies in the manufacturing industry to those in the financial sector.Current clients that I have worked with as a Novus Software Test Analyst are Principality Building Society and Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd. Both of these are listed with further descriptions of the role.

London Borough of Barnet is engaged with Capita to implement Corelogic’s Mosaic Case Management solution for the Adults and Communities Delivery Unit. I was been brought into the programme as a Project Manager to support the Programme manager of the Work Stream 1 package of work, which was to complete all the de-scoped work from the Programmes' go live in April. Half way through the engagement, my responsibilities changed with the change in direction of the programme, in which I worked directly with the Programme Director to assist with the creation of a complete programme plan to be used during commercial discussions between Capita and Barnet Council. Significant Achievements:Initially I was tasked with creating and managing a Programme plan for one of the three workstreams that made up the Mosaic Implementation Programme alongside the workstream’s Programme Manager. Later with the change in programme direction my role changed and instead of reporting to the Programme Manager of Workstream 1, I reported directly to the Programme Director and assisted him with the creation of an overall Programme plan that included all three workstreams and mapped their dependencies, shared resources and created a detailed critical path. This plan was used during commercial discussion between Capita and the client. Before the change in Programme direction, I was also responsible for general project management admin of Workstream 1 including ensuring Workstream 1 RAID items are included and managed, that project work is managed through to completion and that all stakeholders and 3rd parties are managed. After the change I was no longer responsible for the Programme RAID but worked closely with the PMO to ensure that all risks, issues, assumption made during planning and dependencies uncovered in the overall programme plan were included in the RAID.

For the past 6 year The Pensions Regulator have been implementing the Work Place pension scheme across the UK and ensuring that all employers are compliant with the new regulations. This has been achieved in stages with the larger employers being made compliant initially and small & micro employers being left to the last. The last of the staged employer groups will be finishing imminently and a new BAU process is being developed.This is going to include changes to the TPR website, operation model, business processes and generally terminology. All these changes have to be managed as CRs and managed to completion by strict go live dates.Key Activities-Creating a plan to implement the Change Request for terminology changes in line with the new BAU processes. This includes internal training material, knowledge management faqs, management reporting, procedure and process documentation, external online and offline communications, website copy and CRM and Web Portal terminology. These changes effect teams from across the business with a variety of stockholders to engage with.

Southwark Council are undergoing a mobile phone handset replacement project in which a substantial proportion of the 4500 staff are having their Blackberry handsets replaced with iPhones. I order for this shift to be as smooth an experience as possible a project team was needed to manage the scheduling and priority of staff and the actual distribution and setup of the new handsets.Key activities:Created an automated scheduling spreadsheet that took personnel details from council SAP database, O2 billing files and other council directories. This could be interrogated to produce project progression stats and other MI. The council has many independent directories including SAP HR, global mailing directories and Blackberry enterprise systems. To create a definitive list of who in the council needed a replacement device these were needed to be cross referenced and then presented to Departmental stakeholders to clarify. The scheduling process needed constant interaction with council staff from all levels, and at times needed to be handled delicately in order to ensure teams that were of competing priority understood when they would be receiving their handsets.

The Service Development Manager role works alongside the Development Director to capture and prioritise new and amended market propositions, develop the options evaluation, and co-ordinate functions across ChooseCare, Capita and Tier 1 suppliers to turn those concepts into reality.Key tasks and activities• Capture, evaluate and prioritise new and amended market offerings• Undertake detailed market research and options evaluation on priority service development ideas• Deliver business cases and decision support analysis for the Senior Management Team• Coordinate all aspects of the delivery of new market offerings to the point they are accepted by the Operations Director as a Business-As-Usual activity• Work with the Development Director to identify improvements to the Service Development Process that continually develop new offerings faster and more profitably

The Junior PM/PMO Consultant role was an engagement undertaken by Capita IT Professional Services. AS ChooseCare was evolving from being a project to being a Programme/Business within Capita Plc it was decided that a strong PMO and Programme team was needed to ensure that all milestones were delivered on time. The purpose of this role was to create a PMO from the ground up and integrate all the various workstreams together.The role required strong knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, Office (especially Excel), Project and Visio. The PMO Consultant position at the Barking, Havering and Redbridge Clinical Commissioning Group was an engagement undertaken by Capita IT Professional Services. This role was to create and maintain the Project Management Office for the Digital Interoperability Project. This project was being undertaken by the CCG and various business withing Capita Plc. The role required the creation of a shared platform for all project work to be stored and tracked and well as assisting in the booking, planning and facilitation of various workshops and meeting, some of which with both client and public facing. This role also required the creation and maintenance of various finance models as multiple Capita Businesses were involved and needed to track cost and charge separately. Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd required software testers to help with the deployment of a new ERP system that was being implamented company wide. The system that they were using was Microsoft Dymanics AX, which was going to be used to run all aspects from sales to manufacturing. As no official testing work had been carried out or even planned, this role saw the creation of test strategy and test cycle planning documentation, as well as test case scripting, testing and bug management.

The client engagment with Principality Building Society (PBS) was for a software test analyst to provide support to an already well established test team across a number of projects. All software projects ran using the Agile development methology. Responsibilities included writing and running test scripts, attending and grooming and planning sections for stories being worked in each sprint and finding and managing software defects. During my time with PBS I was involved with 2 projects, the first being deploying improvements to the building societies online banking system and the second being the company wide Mortgage Market Review (MMR) project.
