Muthoni is a curious and adaptable individual passionate about impactful leadership in her community and finds genuine excitement in building and nurturing initiatives from their inception.Currently pursuing a BSc in Aerospace Engineering at Kenyatta University (KU), Muthoni is an active member of the Kenyatta University Aerospace Students Association (KUASA) and has completed an internship at the Kenya Space Agency (KSA). In her final year of study, her interests encompass novel composite aerospace materials, green engineering, and space law and policy. Beyond academics, Muthoni is a founding member and serves as the secretary of the non-executive committee of the Aerospace and Aeronautical Association (AAA). She also provides engineering support to a startup in the food processing sector.Previously, Muthoni held the role of Kenya Regional Leader at Girl Up, a global initiative of the United Nations Foundation. Her involvement began with the Girl Up STEM for Social Good Bootcamp, where she later strengthened and expanded Girl Up Clubs in Kenya as Regional Team Lead from 2021 to 2023. She collaborated with Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) and Global HQ teams to host quarterly events for Girl Up in Africa. Some of the events she worked on are STEM for Social Good Bootcamp: Artificial Intelligence & Space Engineering, Girl Up Global Leadership Summit 2021-22, and the STEM-Avi Bootcamp '22 Kenya collaborating with African Leaders in Aviation (ALA) and Women in Aviation (WAI) -Kenya Chapter.Recognized for her advocacy in gender equality in STEM, Muthoni was awarded the Girl Up and Noble Panacea STEM Scholarship in 2021. She also delivered a keynote address at the '22 Girl Up STEM for Social Good Bootcamp: Space Engineering, a platform for championing girls’ empowerment using STEM. Muthoni continues to passionately champion aviation engineering, space engineering, and STEM fields, inspiring youth and girls alike.In her leisure time, Muthoni enjoys reading historical and social literature, travelling with her hānai family, and staying active through exercise.
