I am serving as Project Lead for the newly launched Institute for Post-Conflict Development, an innovative online learning platform focused on development, education and cultural diplomacy. I also lead stakeholder outreach efforts by identifying and building relationships with potential partners, contributors and users. Lastly, I report directly to the CEO, Claudia Abate, to provide project updates, recommendations and support for development and growth.

I worked as a contractor for Mannik Smith Group, a civil engineering consulting firm. We have been hired by the State of Michigan to work within the Information Management Unit (IMU) of their Remediation and Redevelopment Division (RRD). As part of a team of around 30 people, my role involves transferring the State's physical documents into digital formats to reduce paper usage and improve sustainability. My main duties include scanning, labeling, and indexing the State's environmental documents, then uploading them into the State's content management software. This digitization process allows the State to store documents digitally rather than relying solely on paper copies. Overall, our contracted work in the IMU aims to transition the division towards more sustainable information management practices by reducing paper and improving accessibility of documents through digital systems. My position plays a small but important role in achieving those larger IMU goals for the State.Scanned 5,000 pages and indexed 600 documents on a monthly average.

Was on contract for the State of Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) for 9 months.

For my first task I had to utilize strong writing and analytical skills to review, edit, and restructure project documents for Morobe Development Foundation Inc. in support of their environmental and economic development initiatives aligned with UN sustainability goals.My next task was relating to the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, in which I translated materials from English to Spanish. My primary responsibility was translating facilitator guides, participant workbooks, and other documents for an important OCHA capacity building program. Throughout the process, I worked closely with OCHA staff and fellow volunteers to ensure the accuracy and quality of the Spanish translations. Coordinating across multiple teams, I successfully delivered complete and culturally-appropriate translations on tight deadlines. Through this experience, I developed my translation skills and built relationships within the UN system. Overall, I am proud to have contributed my language abilities to support OCHA's mission of mobilizing and coordinating effective humanitarian action.
