I was a self-employed business owner for 15+ years and have transitioned to a new path. In the course of doing business, I managed all the I.T. that goes along with a successful small business (<15 employees, <$10m annual sales.) I thoroughly understand that I.T. is both crucial to success, while also being separate from many businesses' core aims. As an experienced manager and administrator, I bring a perspective often missing from purely technical specialists and MBA's alike.I have the CompTIA trifecta, which I prepared for through years of business ownership. Without a dedicated I.T. staff, I have spent many odd hours configuring networks, considering physical and cybersecurity concerns, and balancing budget considerations with company needs and goals. With a renewed interest in corporate security, I obtained the CySA+ and Pentest+ certifications from Comptia, before taking a support position in healthcare.I'm an experienced communicator, in both public presentations as well as one on one environments. I have provided marketing and strategy consulting to small business and conducted seminars to large groups of professionals.I also hold a bachelors in ministry and 30+ hours of graduate school (seminary) from another lifetime. I considered the life of an academic, but much prefer the daily challenges that come from business.My unique experience and resume places me in an exciting position. I thrive at troubleshooting and consulting - able to assist businesses having clear goals, but needing to navigate an uncertain path to achieve them. I am always open to travel and look forward to this new chapter, with its new opportunities.
