Within Indiana University I have worked as a student facilitator for the Indiana University Auditorium the last three years. After my first year of being a student manager I was promoted to a facilitator position in which I was directly in charge of delegating and instructing a group of my peers. It was my job to assist the 3000 plus patrons in our facility on a nightly basis. I worked as a liaison between the patrons and upper management when necessary and worked to resolve patron issues myself whenever possible. When there were multiple issues at one time, I had to utilize my time management and leadership skills to make sure the needs of every patron were met. I led teams of up to 12 of my peers and delegated when necessary to best serve the patrons. There were upwards of 50 volunteers at each event and it was my job to best utilize our human resources to meet, and surpass, the needs of our customers. While working here customer service was the number one goal, and it has become a goal of mine at any organization I work for.

Through my internship I was able to gain the knowledge of how a youth health and fitness nonprofit organization is managed on a day-to-day basis. As the organization was expanding, I was able to participate in the development of Nine13sports by writing a social media policy and writing regular blog posts to keep our customers up to date with the organization's progress. Through Nine13sports' Kids Riding Bikes® programs, I have worked one-on-one with hundreds of children to encourage them to be active through riding bicycles. By traveling to program sites on a daily basis, I was able to gain event management skills and work with kids, instructors, and partners on site. For monthly fundraisers I would create marketing materials and reach out to our partners to gain awareness for both the fundraiser and the organization as a whole.

I worked one-on-one with customers everyday through the purchasing process to ensure customer satisfaction with the product and the purchasing experience. I maintained inventory levels on a regular basis to make sure all products were stocked to maximize purchases through our Point of Sale system. I have worked with warranty departments from numerous companies to fix customer's issues in a timely and efficient way. On a daily basis I utilized more efficient sales and inventory systems to increase the speed of sales and lessen wasteful purchases for the business overall.
