In this role I coordinated in-house technicians and 3rd-party vendors to maintain and repair wildfire engines with the aim to reduce downtime and increase operational continuity. This role also included the analysis of fleet related metrics that were reported to operational and executive stakeholders with the purpose to increase the efficiency of the fleet. Further responsibilities included economic lifestyle analysis of fleet assets, managing driver and vehicle compliance with state/federal regulations, policy development and implementation, and training.

As Fleet Maintenance Team Lead, I operationally managed 2 technicians, and 1 transportation specialist to coordinate the maintenance and repair of chassis and fire apparatus of over 100 fleet assets. A primary function of my role was to analyze fleet metrics including efficiency, availability, and total cost of ownership using an FMIS and Power BI. This analysis was presented to executive and operational stakeholders to optimize fleet operations. My primary goal was to reduce asset downtime and ensure continuity of fleet operations.

In this role, my first assignment was to establish a maintenance and inspection program tailored to a fleet of nearly 100 assets that seasonally operated in 22 states. I completed this in accordance to manufacturer severe use maintenance schuledules, state and federal regulations, and industry best practices. Simultaneously, I identified and implemented a fleet management software that aligned with business operations, enhanced data driven analysis, promoted internal controls, and created a one-stop platform for drivers to use for fleet related needs. My admistrative functions included maintenance record keeping, federal and state registration, repair order review and approval, driver compliance, and fleet data aggregation.

- Delegating work and resources to shop technicians in order to accomplish quality services (oil changes, tire work/repairs, brakes, alignments etc.) to vehicles in a timely manner. - Training all new technicians, who have varying degrees of experience, to be able to function as a member of our team in accomplishing our daily goals to a high level of quality while adhering to safety regulations. - Monitoring and ordering any inventory and tools necessary for all services performed. - Acting as service advisor in tandem or in absence of others to fulfill customers needs and ensure customer loyalty.
