Meike’s career spans four countries on two continents. After her first life as a newspaper and magazine editor in Germany, the graduate historian (M.A.) and trained journalist established herself in the UK’s corporate publishing industry. When she moved to the other side of the Atlantic, she founded the Canada Office of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, a German political foundation, before joining the City of Ottawa. Her municipal government experience entails public and internal information, education and outreach as well as speechwriting and client and stakeholder engagement; she was also in a Project Manager role. After a year-long leave of absence, living and working in Switzerland, Meike is now back in Ottawa and the City's Public Works Department. She is fluent in English and German and has an advanced knowledge of French.
