These are the tenets of the Systems Administrator.I am responsible for effective daily operation and maintenance of system hardware, software, network, and related infrastructure of the firm. Can I make this run more efficiently? Can I help make this easier for someone? These are questions I need to have answers for every day, and I adapt and strategize to ensure I have the right response.I constantly push myself to master all of the technology in the office. Being dynamic and open to change is crucial to my position as a troubleshooter! If I cannot figure out a solution to an issue, I possess the resources to find the answer.

I configured and supported Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 systems for 50 in-office users, and 35 remote personnel. Users ranged from experienced computing gurus to novices, but one of the best parts of my job was to make sure everyone felt comfortable with their systems and knew I would be there to help them with any issues.One of my favorite things to do was to oversee new software and hardware rollouts and provide training for the new products. I Installed and maintained production software and hardware (Autodesk AutoCAD, Microsoft Office XP/2003/2007/2010, plot printers, copy machines). I enjoyed showing people all of the ins and outs of their new toys!I also supplied server support by managing user account access and created multiple organizational units to be regulated by specific G.P.O’s, and maintained and configured Symantec Endpoint Protection for each user.While at Kennedy/Jenks, I used programs like Wireshark and Etherape to regulate network traffic. This was especially important due to the size of files engineers send each other, and I would often need to set up alternative methods of delivery to keep the network running efficiently.A secure network is a happy network. I performed application and security support, verified disk integrity, and maintained system database files using Microsoft Access for electronic assets. I also completed daily, weekly, and monthly backups, created catalogs, and maintained backups using Symantec Backup Exec.

While at Stream, I provided technical and customer support for Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Acrobat via e-mail and phone. While I never met any of my clients face to face, I enjoyed working with such a wide variety of people from all over the country.
