My name is myriam khoury. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Biology from UoB – Kalhat and a master’s degree in Immunology as well. I am currently working as an emergency medical technician at Lebanese Red Cross. Throughout my year of experience, I have accomplished various tasks going from planning the shift schedule and assigning and distributing tasks to volunteers. In addition, I was trusted to teach and train new volunteers on several medical sessions. Through my experience at the Lebanese red cross, being a team player is key to accomplishing complex tasks. Adding to that, being an assistant team leader in the emergency medical sector has enhanced my communication and presentation skills. Since I was a child, I have involved myself in social and humanitarian work. Being a member of Red Cross and an enumerator in Caritas under UNHCR made me understand the NGO working environment and opened my eyes to the value of clear communication, firm management, and most importantly, helping one another.In my enumerator position, I practiced organizing scheduled field visits followed by outreach activities and collecting beneficiary data as well as reporting properly the results to the coordinator on a daily basis. Moreover, with my hard work and consistency at the Red Cross, I was rapidly trusted with higher responsibilities such as team leading assistant. In addition, having a master’s degree in Immunobiology and a two years of teaching laboratory gave me significant insights on various skills that I could apply at work and during daily life matters.
