SIAA takes a leading role in advising government on behalf of the space industry. Through a program of meetings and other communications, SIAA consults with its members to devise policies to support the development of the Australian space industry and is active in promoting commercial, industrial and research opportunities for its members nationally and internationally.

Currently managing the teams of UQ Space; leading over 100 UQ students into the upcoming space industry by organising a place and system to gain hands-on experience in addition to their theoretical studies, whilst having a real-world impact.In 2018 my responsibility also revolved around the technical oversight of Project Athena (a solid-propellant sounding rocket; 10000ft), ensuring team sub-team functionality, creating (manufacturing) timelines and organising design reviews.

Over the past years I have been involved in the development and teaching of the following courses. Casual Academic duties included preparation of course materials, marking assessment pieces and teaching classes of up to 100 students. [ENGG4900: Professional Practice and the Business Environment]In this course, students will develop the skills required to understand business decision-making. They develop skills to be able to identify barriers to technology uptake and work towards overcoming these through practical knowledge of: engineering economics, engineering law, engineering ethics, and the nature of engineering businesses. [MECH3610/MECH3600: Systems Engineering Principles/ Engineering Management & Communication]Project management in the context of engineering research & design projects. Research approaches & information skills. Project scope; risk, resource & time management, estimation & cost management; communication, leadership, procurement, human resource management. Web-based project management tools. Systems engineering approach to mechanical design.[MECH3100: Mechanical Systems Design] In this course third year mechanical engineering students are expected to work in teams using systems engineering principles to design, evaluate, build, assemble and test a substantive mechanical system, demonstrating the practice of mechanical system design as part of a project team. [ENGG1100: Professional Engineering] & [ENGG1200: Engineering Modelling & Problem Solving] This course provides an introduction to engineering design through a discipline-specific team project. Students will learn and apply professional engineering concepts and issues including: sustainability, safety, estimation, materials selection, decision making, project management, information literacy, communication (graphics, written, oral), ethics, and prototyping (building).
