I was Chair the English Department at Cushing Academy in Massachusetts where my focus was implementation of student Digital Portfolios for all classes in the department. I chaired the Common Read for several years, bringing such authors as Wes Moore and Sherman Alexie to campus as part of community reading initiative that involves school and town. In addition to teaching a full course load and working with curriculum and faculty, I advised Cushing's scholar program, was president of the school's Cum Laude Society, editor of the literary magazine, and Director of the Writing Center.

As Coordinator of 21st Century Curriculum, I worked directly with the Head of School building Cushing Academy into an internationalized community of innovators, entrepreneurs, and master learners. My responsibilities included professional development, mentoring and coaching faculty, technology integration, curriculum analysis, design, and development, coordinating school speakers, and developing learning opportunities and partnerships with institutions and businesses. I organized and ran weekly voluntary professional development lunches that were regularly attended by over 50% of the faculty. I, -led a faculty team in a year-long research of 21c practices in education across the country, visiting over a dozen schools and sharing our findings with our faculty and at regional and national conferences-fostered faculty collaboration resulting in innovative studies combining STEM, Arts, and Humanities departments-created and taught interdisciplinary STEM/Humanities courses across the curriculum-developed in-house faculty PD curriculum around innovations and best practices in education based on research into best practices-served as instructional technologist to faculty, allowing for leading edge tech integration across disciplines-piloted iPad program-piloted Kindle program for literature study

As college counselor, I was responsible for administering aspects of the college search and admissions process, including:-Educating students and parents about colleges, the college admissions process, trends, procedures, and testing; advising and supporting students and families as they go through the process.-Meeting with students, individually and in groups, to talk about process and individual college choices. -Meeting with all college admissions representatives who visit campus and facilitating meetings between college representatives and our students. -Writing an official school recommendation for each senior I worked with.-Being aware of issues and trends in college admission, higher education, testing, as well as keeping up-to-date about specific colleges.

As part of Senior Management Team of the Cushing Academy Summer Session, I was responsible for:-Planning and Implementing Student Life Program and faculty housing and duties.-Residential Life Program: maintaining positive, healthy and safe living environment for over 300 students.-Enforcing school behavioral expectations.-Leading staff of faculty and interns.-Communication with and among internal and external constituencies.

As Department Chair, I was responsible for all concerns of the ELL (ESL) department, which served between 50 and 120 students yearly. These responsibilities included:-Language proficiency testing and placement of all international students-Serving as International Student Advisor-Faculty PD around best practices for ELL; responding to issues and concerns-Ensuring accurate legal documentation for all students including Visa and passport compliance-Organizing social and cultural activities and trips including all-school International Dinner, vacation trips and home stays, cultural exchanges with peer schools-Serving as liaison to parents and consultants-Teaching 5 classes

A master teacher of adult language classes at SUNY Albany, I created curriculum and taught courses in all levels of ELL, focusing on written and spoken English for business and social interaction. My students ranged from young recent immigrants to older adults who had been in the country for decades and wished to improve English language skills.
