Manager and lead programmer in a team of three whose main focus was to implement a neural network that could classify the working status of hosts in a cloud system. This application was tested using the CloudSim framework and the failure prediction system was implemented in Java. Preliminary findings showed that pre-defined behaviors could be predicted when using a multilayer perceptron and an Elman recurrent neural network with data pulled from the system and stored in sliding window queues.

Assisted in the development of course material for a databases course and principles of programming languages course at NMT. Ran tests of student code involving database queries and tables written in SQLite and SQL+. Designed and implemented an assignment where students had to develop a LISP interpreter using C++. Assisted students with understanding topics related to ER diagrams, relational calculus, relational algebra, parameter passing, object oriented features, and activation records.

Developed an interface that automatically submitted big-data tasks to the GENI infrastructure by analyzing the data made visible through the GENI API. Worked on Fault Tolerant Research. Implemented a reliable checkpoint restart mechanism for use with various OpenMPI applications to further decrease the time required to start from saved states by storing critical data in fast access solid state drives or in memory. Researched current checkpoint-restart mechanisms and designed algorithms to further improve upon current implementations. Implemented algorithmic solutions that integrate with the current OpenMPI code-base, which consists of over 300,000 lines of C code.

Partnered with the NMSBA and the NMT Management Department to assist in the evaluation and potential development of a veterinary database system. Reverse engineered a database system written in MySQL with a graphical C# component. Created ER diagrams and class diagrams to showcase the interactions between different system components and the database interactions and queries. Met with the client on multiple occasions to discuss the issues with the current product and the features desired in the new product. Began design of a new system using SQLite and Java.
