I design and facilitate dialogue processes in North America and East Europe (Russia, Ukraine, Georgia). My projects in Canada and the US focus on peacebuilding dialogue as a response to growing sociopolitical polarization (left-right ideologies, identity politics, populism/elitism), and I seek to better understand behaviour among conflict-affected groups, what motivates such actors and how dialogue practices can appropriately address related issues. In East Europe, much of my work has shifted in response to the ongoing crises sparked by the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. I continue to support my colleagues in the Ukrainian Community of Dialogue Facilitators in research and facilitation capacities, as well as work to build space for dialogue and exchange among Russians inside and outside the country, particularly in Georgia. My research interests include sociopolitical polarization, the application of dialogue practices on the ground, the limits of dialogue in contexts of mass violence and the development of networks for practitioners.

Founder, facilitator and mediator at a couple cool projects.Behind the Signs (2016-ongoing): an ongoing media project interviewing people located in cultural/political conflict zones and presenting their stories in exhibitions and social media.Kitchen Talks (2017-ongoing): dialogue groups meeting on a weekly basis to discuss hot-topic and controversial issues with the aim of creating safe spaces for engaging with other opinions and otherwise envigorating civil discourse. My role involves mediation, choosing topics & content and facilitating the discussion space. Themes have included immigration, feminism, borders, religion and more.House Conferences (2018-ongoing): organizing local events in the spirit of TED where local community members give presentations on topics as varied as a cosmic rainbow. Space is created for people coming from various political or ideological backgrounds to encounter each other and come to a point of mutual respect. It's also a lot of fun.

As a freelance teacher of English as a Second Language (ESL), I have had experience with a broad range of clients and educational needs. From children being prepared for international education to executive staff practicing their discussion skills to working with refugees seeking safety and opportunity in Europe to freelancers improving their ability to correspond and negotiate with clients, my services have empowered students to grow and reach for new opportunities in an increasingly globalized world. Taking from my experience with FORM Training (see former employers), I have left behind a one-size-fits-all approach symbolized by textbooks in favour of working through customized material with clients to serve their needs best. As an educator, my duties include:-Offering personalized programs and classes for individuals of all ages working to improve their English language skills and level;-Developing curriculum with students with respect to personalized language goals, present linguistic level and business/personal requirements and deadlines;-Prepared students for standardized exams, including (but not limited to) IELTS, Cambridge and Pearson examinations such PTE and LCCI specialized exams;-Working in-person (Russia) or online (Skype) to accommodate client scheduling needs;-Using my skills in Russian and Farsi (and general experience with a predominantly Slavic client base) to ease new language learners into the stages of fluency.
