Richmond, Virginia (Location) As an Artist/Floor Artist, I instruct classes and assist other stage artists in an entertaining environment where customers gather and mingle. I instruct 2 hour and 3 hour classes. Full classes include some time before class for artists to set up with table covers, canvases, easels, paints and supplies and to greet and check in customers. Some classes require artists to stencil or sketch basic outlines on canvases prior to class. Artists are also required to pre-paint the class painting (if they have not taught the painting before)

As Project manager and Creative Director I worked along side my Embodiment Director to create an 8 week Detention Center program under Performing Statistics. I lead workshops, maintain program's schedule/curriculum, support staff, keep supplies available, and document workshop evaluations during and after the program. This program is titled "Unmasking the Hero". We are assisting youth in creating a physical comic book that introduces positive youth development through the eyes of becoming a superhero or anti-hero (not villain). We are exploring the skills of storytelling, group leadership, character development, time management, and a sense of responsibility, all through fun and flexible course work. We encourage leadership, creativity, and team building. It is a fun environment to explore their strengths, and question/redefine their weaknesses or "kryptonite". This program is led by artists, storytellers, and psychologists who are trained in trauma-informed care, complex trauma, leadership development, and youth engagement.
