Dr Nan Chen is a Teaching Fellow in the School of Engineering at the University of Birmingham. As an Associate Fellow of Advanced Higher Education, he aims to carry out high-quality teaching activities. His main teaching area is within the MSc Programme - Electrical Power Systems, and his research interests include HVDC modeling and control. He has five-year working experience in industry, and was awarded the Intermediate Engineer Qualification Certificate before joining the University of Birmingham. He is the current Communications Officer of the IEEE Power and Energy Society UK&I Chapter, and the Secretary and Treasurer of CIGRE UK NGN.
