Courage is a trait I have always admired in others. I am in awe of the courage of my dyslexic students who work so hard to become fluent readers. I honor the strength of older women who start new lives or careers. Then one day I realized, why can’t that be me? Today I have a private practice tutoring dyslexic children working almost entirely on zoom. In addition, I gig content-rich, decodable text for struggling readers. I have written hundreds of passages, plays and, most recently, a 7,000 word chapter book. Experience brings wisdom, intuition, patience and empathy. Advanced study is the essential foundation that is key to each of my tutoring sessions.
