Plan and design transportation projects: apply project management methodology and ministry technical standards, process and procedures to ensure a safe highway system.- Lead team (engineers, environmental, properties, service providers, geomatics, geotechnical, structural) in the planning and design of transportation infrastructure projects (roads, ferries).- Evaluate site plans to ensure compliance with highway corridor planning standards.- Reporting (business case, issues notes, status reports) to senior management associated with funding and status.

Manage and direct a large scale multi-million multi-year remediation project (hazardous / radiological wastes), from planning, through implementation, and closeout. Meet public, regulatory, and stakeholder expectations to achieve project objectives. Chair public meetings. − Lead project team on scope, schedule, and technical - regulatory issues. − Navigate project through a three year dual regulatory process: complex federal environmental assessment followed by the issuance of a waste nuclear substance licence, and a provincial certificate of approval for a hazardous waste disposal site. − Oversee engineering service provider performing federal environmental assessments, contract administration, approvals, and detailed engineering; negotiate scope change− Create project schedules, project charter and integrated project plan, issues management forecast, regulatory reports, request for proposals, technical specifications, quality assurance program, and policies and procedures. − Plan, develop, and implement multi-media (air, water, soils, radiological, noise) environmental monitoring program.

Manage capital projects (15 projects assigned ranging from $250K to $5M) by establishing scope, schedule, budget, reporting, procurement, issues, risks, first nations, and stakeholder management. Seek and co-ordinate internal and external resources. Collaborates with stakeholders, regulators, and sponsors.− Coordinated staff (co-op student, technicians, designer, engineers, environmental and property specialists, surveyors, engineering consultants, construction managers) in executing project related tasks and assignments. − Developed project management plans, project cost estimates, and schedules for new capital upgrades. Provided monthly status updates to project sponsor using a project dashboard. − Chaired team meetings to review scope, schedule, and address ongoing risks and issues. − Facilitated lessons learned team review and documented final completion report for projects. − Developed one hour best practices seminar on navigating regulatory processes.
