My rise through the rank of professional sports and my significant contributions to basketball encompass a rich and elaborate history. My refusal to accept anything less than the best, my devotion to the sport of basketball, and my relentless time and energy to the advancement of women in sports are hopefully an inspiration to develop the current and next generation of basketball players. My career is one of monumental strength and motivation in the pursuit of becoming one of the greatest women's basketball player. Along the way I have earned honors such as Basketball Hall of Famer, Two-Time Olympian, Three-Time All-American, Two-Time Collegiate National Champion and Two-Time National Player of the Year at Old Dominion University. Not to mention, the first woman to play in a men's professional league and the oldest to play in the WNBA. Following my professional basketball journey, I began my coaching the sport that I love. I became the first woman to coach a professional men's basketball team, the Texas Legends of the NBA G-League. Later, became the Assistant Coach of the Sacramento Kings, making me the second ever woman to coach an NBA team. And now, head coach in the BIG3, where I won the championship my first season. Additionally, I have been an acclaimed broadcaster for ABC, NBC, ESPN, and Bally Sports, among other proud career accolades. Around coaching, I work as a motivational speaker, author, and social justice advocate. I have been featured by Nike, Bank of America, FedEx, and JP Morgan among others to shed light on topics including business, sports, image and self-esteem, teamwork, winning, DEI, racial and social justice, and women working in a man's world. In 1980, I founded the Nancy Lieberman Charities. NLC was established with the mission to provide a healthy, physical, emotional and mental environment for young girls and boys to build their self-esteem and confidence so they will be able to make the right choices in the future. The charity is dedicated to expanding and ensuring that sports and educational opportunities exist for youth through basketball camps and clinics, DreamCourts projects and educational programs. Since 2010, 123 Dream Courts have been built across the nation, providing a safe play place for kids. Each court serves approximately 100 youth per day, helping us improve the lives of over 5.3 million kids a year. Overall, we have raised $28 million dollars for our programs.
