This role lets me work with employers and students -- making connections through Handshake, Career Expos, information sessions, etc. Building employer relations is vital to our Career Services office. I do that through networking events in our city; having connections with our local ND Job Service office, the Chamber of Commerce, and the EDC; along with outreach directly to employers. In addition, employers reach out and connections are made through in-person or virtual visits with our staff to learn what they are looking for when hiring, majors and skills of interest, and discussions on we can best help with their recruiting needs. In addition, I manage our software platforms used. A lot of marketing is part of what I do on a regular basis, so you'll find me writing new pieces to demonstrate how to use a product and pieces that help announce products and services to students, faculty, staff, and employers.

Grand Forks, North Dakota Area

Responsible for providing career related internship services to current students, faculty and employers. Assist students with the internship search, resume support, practice interviews, etc. Collaborate with faculty regarding processes for connecting students and employers. Support employers with the development of internships, job descriptions, recruitment, etc. In addition, monitor and maintain the Career Services website, Career Connect, and internship marketing. Serve on a UND Strategic Planning Committee, an ambassador for the Grand Forks/East Grand Forks Chamber of Commerce, and chosen as the 2019 Ambassador Chair.
