This new park is located on the Caledon Trailway/Trans Canada Trail at Palgrave. Once an abandoned railway siding it is now a focal point in the centre of the village showcasing the Oak Ridges Moraine and the heritage of Palgrave VillageIn 1997 I was appointed to the Humber River Alliance by the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority in recognition of my volunteer work. Accomplishments include the Palgrave Mill Pond Rehabilitation Project. This million dollar initiative involved community volunteers and representatives of all levels of government. Don't Assault Rural Environments (D.A.R.E) was the Caledon citizen’s organization that was formed to represent and protect the community during the Provincial Government’s Interim Waste Authority search for three mega-landfill sites in the Greater Toronto Area in 1992. Significant media profile was achieved.
