Background as an investor working with foreclosed properties before it was the "in" think to do! In 1987, i purchased my first foreclosure at the Montgomery County Courthouse. That experience proved to be financially successful so i continued to Purchased houses throughout MD at the Courthouse steps. Remodeled and "flipped" many homes while being a "stay at home Mom." It was though this experience that I learned many facets of buying, selling and decided to get my license as a REALTOR. As an Educator, i was always interested in what was happening in the schools in my community. I Served on Washington County Superintendent's Budget Advisory Committee, under Dr. Wayne Gersen,. As a Citizen Committee member our role was to analyze the Budget before the Superintendent made recommendations to the BOE. This was a great way to check and balance the budget that we should use today to ensure accountability of each department of the WCBOE.Under Dr. Herman Bartlett, Superintendent of Washington County Public Schools, i organized and directed a program to allow elementary school children to enter a contest for tickets to attend a performance of The Nutcracker by the City Ballet School-1998. Over 65 elementary school children and their chaperone attended the performance with tickets sponsored by area businesses throughout the City. Under Dr. Betty Morgan, served on 2 Generation Study Groups. The First Generation Study Group resulted in a program for a Gifted and Talented Magnet schools in Washington County. The Second Generation Study Group worked on development of a Fine Arts Program which became the Barbara Ingram School of Fine Arts in Hagerstown, MD. Being a REALTOR in Maryland I was chosen to attend the Leadership Training held by Maryland Association of REALTORS in Annapolis, MD. This was training for those who were posed for higher leadership roles within the network of Associations in Maryland. In 2013, I served as Second Vice President and later became President of Pen-Mar Association of REALTORS in 2015.I am currently licensed in PA, and WV with Quad State Realty, Inc. and as an Associate Broker in Maryland with Roger Fairbourn Real Estate.
