Nancy Boutot is the Manager of Financial Empowerment at National Disability Institute in Washington, D.C. She is also the Manager of Cross-Systems innovation at the LEAD Center, who's work focuses on promoting innovation in policy, employment, and economic advancement to advance individual and systems level change for all people with disabilities. Nancy is the lead technical assistant for various state and national initiatives that provide financial education, employment and capacity building services to individuals with disabilities and their communities. Nancy provides training on financial awareness, economic development including Social Security Disability benefits, work supports, financial counseling and other asset development strategies to empower individuals with disabilities and low income communities to maximize financial capabilities and access to mainstream financial services. Prior to joining NDI, Nancy spent eight years with the Agency for Persons with Disabilities in Florida where she served for seven years as the Regional Employment Coordinator and for a year and a half as the Employment Unit Chief. Prior to that, she spent fourteen years directing non-profit community based employment programs in both Florida and New Jersey. Nancy holds a BA degree from Northeastern University and a MS from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She is also a certified Community Work Incentives Coordinator (CWIC) through Virginia Commonwealth University's National Training Center and a Certified Financial Counselor through the National Association of Certified Credit Counselors.
