My main focus was to increase Best West’s company profile through the creation, development and execution of events and promotions in their Manitoba and northern Ontario retail stores. Other primary responsibilities included: sourcing and development of partnerships and cross-promotional opportunities with potential and existing suppliers and other partners to participate in various in-store and out-of-store events and promotions; sourcing and purchasing various media to increase awareness; completion of store reports and oversee general appearance and ‘look’ of stores to ensure that all are merchandised correctly and consumer-friendly; organizing and delivery of product to stores, ensuring each has the right product mix based on their store demographic.

In this position I was responsible for the overall development, planning, logistics, management and execution of all necessary components for corporate conferences and events including, but not limited to: facility/food and beverage development and management; meeting and function room space set-up; development of floor plans (on and off-site); management of audio-visual, stage production and technical requirements; décor, entertainment, tours and other recreational activities (on and off-site); on-site registration and database management; establishing and managing multiple hotel blocks and transportation arrangements (air/ground); performance of site inspections (on/off-site venues); overall communication and management of conference/event sponsors, speakers, VIP’s and delegates.On the sales/administrative side, my primary responsibilities included: development and acquisition of new business as well as creation and writing responses to proposals and other business referrals; sales of sponsorship and cross-promotional opportunities; developing/monitoring client budgets; copy writing/editing of conference/event websites and collateral materials.

My primary areas of responsibility in this position included: development, execution and sale of local and national campaigns, promotions and ad sales for clients and advertising agencies; acquisition of new clients for M2, as well as pursuing new business publications for the publishing division; managed and oversaw national sales force; developed and monitored sales budgets and projections, monthly revenue and expense reports, and general overall financial management for M2 Communications and the publishing division.
