Worked to grow business opportunities for McKinstry in the Oregon market, with a focus on our integrated services advantage, and their suite of energy efficiency services.Acted as key connector externally to drive business development. Leveraged relationships across broad spectrum in the market to develop a diverse and enduring legacy client base. Positioned McKinstry as a thought leader by participating in key industry organizations and efforts in order to evolve strategically over the next decade and beyond. Communicated internally to improve team’s understanding of McKinstry, its culture, and core value proposition in the marketplace. Acted as strategic lead for McKinstry’s brand in the marketplace. Acted as Governor’s top policy advisor on issues impacting business retention and recruitment efforts statewide; oversaw the Oregon Office of Business Development. Responsible for resolving and managing a diverse spectrum of constituent concerns. Represented Mayor and city locally and nationally on wide variety of issues with a broad range of audiences across a complex and disparate slate of issues.Prior to position as Chief of Staff, led successful general election campaign for Mayor, for a non-traditional candidate with a limited budget – with our opponent outspending us 10 to 1. Developed and oversaw all strategic planning, working with campaign committee; Managed supervision and recruitment of hundreds of volunteers and paid staff; Developed and managed paid and earned media campaign; Responsible for oversight of extensive research efforts and correlated speeches for 58 candidate debates in 9 weeks.

As Co-Founder of the Help Out Public Education (HOPE) for Measure 26-48 Campaign, served as lead negotiator with Portland Mayor, and city and county commissioners to place measure on the Spring ballot to generate emergency funding for schools countywide. Met with members of the local business community, elected officials, union representatives, and education advocates on regular basis to gauge progress and determine next steps in constantly evolving, highly controversial debates. Served as key public spokesperson for effort, working closely with media on a daily basis. Coordinated large portions of volunteer base for campaign work. Managed extensive Speakers’ Bureau. Oversaw large portions of field outreach for campaign.As the Campaign Manager for the Portland Children’s Initiative, led successful local property tax levy campaign, which provides $10 million annually for funding for variety of children’s services citywide. Duties included: Strategic planning; Budget development and oversight; Supervision and recruitment of volunteers and paid staff; Key outreach speaker/advocate to children’s, neighborhood and business organizations; Managing paid and earned media campaign; Oversight of $400,000+ fund raising effortAs Director of Planning & Outreach for the Children’s Investment Fund created from the initiative, ensured stakeholder input on review of applications for funds for proven programs for kids; Responsible for leveraging investments with additional local dollars, private foundation dollars and federal matching monies; Acted as lead on developing more coordinated efforts among service provider community, stakeholder groups and local and state government; Liaison with Allocation Committee, City Council, County Commissioners and press.
