Nursing and Medical Students learn to interview and examine patients with compassion, efficiency, and accuracy, while respecting the dignity of every patient. As an SP, I portray patients with specific symptoms and history (medical, social, and family); each portrayal includes physical and affective manifestations. I provide feedback to the learners to enhance their understanding of the patients' experience.

As a "Reading Tutor" I explore all aspects of language for written, verbal, and signed communication with my adult Intellectually Disabled (ID) students. Individualized texts are created and illustrated to present the learner as the hero of his or her own story, using familiar, necessary, and preferred vocabulary . Students demonstrate improved interpersonal skills and greater independent navigation of their social environments.
