Oversaw all district communications for Montana’s largest school district (16,000 students), including multi-channel strategic messaging for public, media and staff. Directed development of district-wide public relations strategy, media relations and public affairs policy. Developed partnerships with key district, community, business and legislative leaders. Directed and oversaw management of district communication tools, including web site, social media and publications. Managed governmental relations and community partnerships. Directed all district-wide marketing initiatives. Directed the development and assessment of strategies to identify integrated communication opportunities and needs. Oversaw crisis communications.

Developed and implemented marketing plans for educational institutions. Clients included Billings Public Schools and MSU-Billings College of Technology. Developed a multi-year strategic communications plan for Billings SD2, and implemented years one and two of plan. Built support and awareness for the 2007 mill levy election, as part of a team and as leader of all SD2 messaging. Created and implemented new programs for Billings SD2, including “Supe & Coffee” community forums with the Superintendent.

Established a new program to develop and oversee school/business partnerships—the first program of its kind in Montana. Developed approximately 30 new school/business partnerships. Created and developed “PIE Salute to Partnerships” luncheon and awards program to generate publicity and awareness, attracting more than 200 attendees in its first year. Secured funding for the PIE program and developed an advisory board.

Developed a full-service advertising agency with offices in Billings and Helena (Montana). H2O serviced a variety of accounts, providing strategy, production, media planning and placement for television, radio, print and Internet. Grew business to annual capitalized billings of $3.5 million. Directed all new business efforts. Acted as Account Supervisor on all accounts, providing strategy, budget management and business development direction to clients. Oversaw all personnel functions (15 employees). Clients included Gainan’s, Montana tourism (Travel Montana), Wendy’s of Montana, Association of Film Commissioners International, Billings Convention & Visitors Bureau, Park County Travel Council, Intermountain Mortgage Company, Rocky Mountain Banks, Yellowstone Association Institute and others.

Developed national marketing strategies designed to meet the goals and specific needs of clients. Facilitated all agency work including creative, media strategy, and budgeting including: Utah Travel Council, Ski Utah, Solitude Ski Resort, Midas Mufflers, Intermountain Cadillac Dealers and Salt Lake City Olympic Bid Committee.

Set goals and objectives for national and international consumer marketing program. Oversaw development and implementation of all marketing campaigns. Performed budget management of $2.5 million. Directed and supervised contracted advertising agency in the implementation of advertising campaigns, including consumer, group travel and film location. Developed cooperative partnerships with national, regional, and local companies. Oversaw all consumer research projects, implementing data in marketing strategies.
