The opportunity to contribute to one of the most respected affiliates of NPR combined with an opportunity to grow professionally and add to that...the fact that I am in this beautiful place of New Hampshire - well, it is rather amazing.Ultimately, I led the development and communications teams: from membership to major gifts and from sponsors to underwriting - more than 15,000 members and corporate and foundation supporters contribute through a dozen different revenue lines to meet our $6.5M annual operating budget. Managed unique capital campaign to double the size of our newsroom and take our our 55+ member total team to more than 70.It is incredible to get up each day and make a difference in an organization that does so much and on which so many people depend.

I actively sought this position at the then, Dade Community Foundation. I was inspired by new leadership and lofty goals for the organization. After a highly competitive interview process, I was selected for this new role. We almost immediately rebranded the organization to better position us to achieve these goals. It was a very challenging position and I am very proud of all we achieved in such a brief time. Raised profile by re-branding and repositioning organization to reflect new business model and focus of development and public affairs. Designed, planned and successfully executed “ourMiami”, the only community indicators project of its kind. Attracted more than 24 community partners and funders. Program is looked to as best practice nationally.

The Community Foundation of Broward is widely regarded as the philanthropic leader in the Broward community. Our concerted efforts to refresh the brand and position the organization in this way have garnered huge returns - including a $40M estate gifts and more than $150M in future estate gifts. Developed full-service communications department with concise messages focused on estate planning for all audiences, consistent branding, and message and image development.

The Studios of Key West is an Artists' Community. After more than three years of working with the Rodel Foundation to make this goal a reality, it was an honor to become its first executive. The Studios has recently moved to a new location to support its continuous growth. Visit them at tskw.org.Obtained $2.7 million in matching grant funding through the writing of effective public grants. Secured $2 million in private support annually. Restored a significant historical building and handled all aspects of regulatory compliance, operations, financials and improvements.

The Rodel Foundation - Florida was established to make an impact in public education, the arts and environment in Key West, Florida. We made amazing strides in a community not known for its philanthropy, including successfully completing a multi-million dollar challenge grant at the community foundation. Our approach was entrepreneurial and focused on building consensus to make lasting change.Identified and implemented opportunities for leadership and strategic investment of resources. Devised a highly successful public policy land use study and plan on significant waterfront property interfacing with 25 institutions and donors. Served as a key player in the acquisition of a historic public school. Designed and managed successful $9 million challenge grant to community foundation.
