I work in partnership with colleges/schools and other units to provide support for evidence informed and inclusive teaching and learning practice, ongoing enhancement of learning and teaching, raise the profile of teaching and enable student success as they pursue their learning, life and career goals. As Associate Vice Provost Teaching and Learning I lead strategic developments in teaching and learning policy, practice and systems and related institutional change initiatives. I also oversee the provision of strategic and constructive support to academic leaders, faculty and staff in building or advancing decolonization and indigenization educational initiatives. Additionally, I am responsible for leadership of USask's Prince Albert campus as well as strategic planning, leadership, and oversight of 60+ employees, the activities, and the resources of the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching and Learning (GMCTL), Career Services, Access and Equity Services, and teaching and learning enhancement support in the areas of academic integrity, teaching evaluation and micro-credentials ensuring all services are in alignment with the university’s strategic directions.

In this position I worked in partnership with University of Saskatchewan colleges/schools and other units to support the ongoing enhancement of learning and teaching, the development of positive student learning experiences and the provision of quality academic and professional development that enables both of these at the university. I provided strategic oversight and leadership to the specialist units that support learning and teaching, media production and student employment and career services. I also contributed to strategic developments in teaching and learning policy and practice and lead related institutional change initiatives. My work focused at a leadership and strategic level to support ongoing enhancement of teaching and learning across the University of Saskatchewan and to support academic units in the design and development of innovative and effective academic programming. I worked to develop and enact the vision, strategy and quality services of all units in the portfolio to best support the discovery, learning and service mandates of the institution.

In this role I led several specialist units (Gwenna Moss Centre, University Learning Centre, Media Production) and led and contributed to institutional initiatives to enhance learning and teaching.

At UAL my role involved strategic development of: services in initial and continuing professional development in learning and teaching; e-learning platforms and support in use of technology enhanced learning; reward and recognition of staff in learning and teaching; and learning and teaching innovations and initiatives.

I provided strategic leadership for learning and teaching development across UAL including policy formation and implementation and development and monitoring of the learning and teaching strategy. I contributed to developments in sustainability, enterprise and employability, student engagement and blended learning through institutional research, policy formation and provision of strategic funding opportunities. I led 2 units, Student Enterprise and Employability and the Centre for Learning and Teaching in Art and Design. I also held this acting role for periods in 2007/2008 and 2011.
