As Director of Recruitment at Wake Emergency Physicians, PA, I am directly responsible for securing excellent talent to join our practice. In my role, I work with our President and Advanced Practice Provider Executive Director and extended hiring team to recruit excellent Physicians, Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners to our group. Wake Emergency Physicians, PA, treats over 300,000 patients annually and staffs nine locations within three hospital systems in North Carolina.

As an Account Manager at Medical Mutual, I traveled to medical practices across North Carolina to obtain new business and deliver annual renewals to our valued clients. This position included presenting health benefit plan designs from the North Carolina Medical Society to Group Administrators and Physician leaders, and ultimately their employees. Follow up open enrollment meetings were conducted at various client locations. Medical Mutual participated in the development of bi-annual Administrator Workshops and Member Advisory Council Meetings in North Carolina. This position required the ability to sell, retain, and service accounts with superior customer service.

Hired due to exciting launch at Carolinas Medical Center, a new Pediatric Sub-Specialty clinic, which included Carolina Pediatric Surgery, NorthEast Pediatric Endocrinology and NorthEast Pediatric Neurology, opened its doors to the community. I served as Practice Administrator for six physicians while actively planning for growth and marketing of practice to referring physicians. Position also required credentialing of new physicians with hospital privileges, managed care contracts and implementation of clinic scheduling. Supervised hospital based office staff with one satellite clinic.

Extensive experience managing day-to-day operations in a privately owned outpatient Dermatologic surgery center. Instrumental in practice start up as well as successful Accreditation by the Association of Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC). Established Employee policies and procedures, served as benefit representative for staff, as well as 401(k) profit sharing and cash balance plan administrator. Handled recruitment, on-boarding, employee training and development. Served as physician liaison both in the workplace and the community.

Supervised daily operations of the Member Services Department for the WellPath Community Health Plan. Also responsible for company-wide implementation of the customer service orientation program. Provided on the job coaching and quality audits to ensure efficiency and accuracy of the call center.

While working at Cigna Healthsource, I was responsible to resolve calls regarding medical claim inquiries as well as health benefit questions from medical practices across the state. This position required proficiency in problem resolution, knowledge of multiple health plans, and a high degree of speed and accuracy.
