Led the association's global efforts to advance innovation and access to biotech solutions in healthcare, agriculture, and climate change technologies. This included coordinating all international policy work and managing the departmental budget and personnel. Highlights of my work include:• Overseeing a successful advocacy initiative that sidelined a proposal to waive intellectual property rights for COVID-19 therapies at the World Trade Organization, including engagement with coalition partners, key opinion leaders in U.S. and European capitals, and a national communications campaign• Convincing the U.S. Department of Agriculture and U.S. Trade Representative to launch a dispute settlement process under the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Free Trade Agreement to suspend Mexico’s non-science-based ban on biotech corn• Representing the U.S. biotech industry at multilateral fora, including the International Council for Harmonization (ICH) of pharmaceutical regulations, where I was instrumental in launching a new initiative on regulatory convergence for cell & gene therapies • Bringing a new strategic focus to BIO’s global advocacy work, using a data-driven approach to concentrate on key markets and fine-tuning messaging to emphasize the critical contributions of the innovative biotech industry worldwide

Led the association's global code of ethics program, developing and executing a global strategy to promote a culture of business integrity worldwide to achieve a level playing field and enhance market access for medtech companies with high-standard codes of ethics. Highlights include:• Leading a multifunctional team to spearhead the medtech industry’s compliance response to the COVID-19 pandemic globally, working with stakeholders to maintain high ethical standards while facilitating equipment donation and technical support• Launching a multilateral code of ethics development project in the Asia-Pacific and Latin America regions in cooperation with the U.S. government, doubling the number of effective medtech codes of ethics in five years and securing the endorsement of the U.S. Commerce Secretary at the Summit of the Americas in 2018• Working directly with the China Medical Device Industry Association to develop a code of ethics for medical device manufacturers in China, adopted in 2016• Representing the U.S. medical technology industry in meetings with U.S. and foreign officials, industry associations and at international conferences• Developing and launching a new training and education platform on the revised AdvaMed Code of Ethics, increasing certifications and creating new revenue streamsLed the association’s corporate governance initiatives, including policy development and management of the Board of Directors and nomination processes. Highlights include:• Acting as Chief of Staff to CEO during the COVID-19 pandemic, coordinating global policy development and preparing senior executives throughout the association for top-level meetings, including with White House staff• Launching a diversity initiative which quadrupled the number of women serving on the AdvaMed Board• Overseeing the transition to a digital platform and working with top medtech CEOs to re-imagine management processes to maximize efficiency while meeting legal requirements

Recruited from the U.S. Department of State to lead the association's government relations strategy for enhancing market entry in the Asia-Pacific region for more than 400 U.S.-based medical device companies and create the China market access program. Used a consensus-based process to determine policy priorities among competitors in a key, rapidly growing market and positioned AdvaMed as a trusted expert to regional governments and Chinese regulatory authorities. Led the China team, supervised overseas staff, and oversaw the $4 million departmental budget. Key highlights include:• Launching the AdvaMed China program, opening the Beijing office, and achieving the key objectives of removing discriminatory regulatory and procurement processes and aligning medtech regulations with international best practices• Drafting the initial medical device chapter for the Korea-U.S Free Trade Agreement, which pioneered the inclusion of adherence to a science-based regulatory approach for medical technologies in an FTA• Conceiving the "Medical Device Regulatory Convergence by 2020" program at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum. Worked with member companies to develop the appropriate content, milestones, and training necessary to create a consistent regulatory approach throughout the region and worked with regulatory authorities and U.S. and APEC leaders to build consensus for its successful adoption

Led this volunteer-based 501(c)(6) organization to support women trade professionals and strengthen free trade advocacy in the nation's capital. As President, oversaw all aspects of WIIT's business operations, set strategic direction, and worked with the Board of Directors to ensure maximum member engagement and develop programming for the Washington, DC professional trade community.
