Fernando gives lessons since March 2008 at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He finished Telecommunication Engineering in the year 2007, and a Master in Robotics and Automatics in 2009, both in the University Carlos III of Madrid, where he got the Ph. Degree in Electric, Electronic and Automatics in 2012. During his research career, he has published numerous articles in congresses and international journals mainly in the fields of Intelligent Transport Systems, perception, localization, and data fusion. He has published more than 80 papers in peer review journals, book chapters, and international congresses. He has edited one book. His most relevant publications deal with the use of data fusion techniques for road user detection and tracking, as well as the use of neural networks techniques in Lidar Detection.Fernando has performed visiting stays as a researcher at Vislab laboratory from Parma and State University of New York at Buffalo. He speaks Spanish (mother tongue) and English(fluent).He gave seminars in international entities such as New York State University at Buffalo, Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana de Medellín, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and Parma University.He was Awarded the Joung Researcher/Engineer Award of the IEEE-ITS Society in 2021, with the "Premio Fundación Barreriros" to the best automotive research work in 2014, he also was awarded with the best PhD thesis on Intelligent Transport System 2013-2015 by the Spanish Chapter of ITS, among other recognitions.
