About Nardia Sheriff
Who knew I'd become passionate about leadership and excellence within the water sector when I joined Lower Murray Water (LMW) in 2020? I now oversee key functions including strategy development, stakeholder engagement, risk and emergency management, governance, operating excellence, and communications and get to work with some of the most collaborative people I've ever met. LMW provides vital water services to communities along the Murray River, and in collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team, Board, staff and external stakeholders, I ensure alignment with organisational objectives, compliance with legislative requirements, and effective communication of achievements and challenges. My focus includes developing robust strategies, fostering stakeholder relationships, and generating clear communication and change management initiatives. As a graduate of the Northern Mallee Leaders Program (NMLP 2009), I am passionate about community-oriented leadership and enabling people to step into their own leadership potential. I have a strong work ethic, a collaborative stakeholder management approach, and an outcome orientation that creates positive impact. I also have a background in marketing communications, project planning, and academia, which enables me to apply a multidisciplinary perspective and a creative problem-solving mindset to my role. I am committed to contributing to the economic, social, and cultural development of our region and its many communities with environmentally responsible and sustainable water management. I'm always keen to connect with fellow professionals and thought leaders.
