I led the recruitment and retention efforts of the re-establishment of the Sigma Kappa Chapter at the University of Alabama, resulting in over 250 new sorority members within three months. During this time, I facilitated the 10-week new member education program designed to introduce new members to the sorority, as well as develop the potential of these new members through team-building, personal assessment, group discussion, self-reflection, and skill-building. My specific roles included managing the chapter budget, organizing small-scale and large-scale events, and handling all risk management. I designed and conducted numerous ongoing training and development workshops for the entire sorority membership using a wide variety of teaching aids, motivational techniques, and implementation strategies to engage participants in active learning. Throughout my time as a Leadership Consultant I participated in 150+ hours of leadership, communication, behavioral, procedural, and risk management training through Sigma Kappa Sorority Headquarters.

I was able to learn about quantitative research from a highly acclaimed professor at Louisiana Tech University. I collected data on childhood meals and analyzed it based on at-home and school-time communication and eating habits. I was able to develop communication skills by gathering research data via phone calls. I also became proficient at working with SPSS statistic software.

As a research assistant, I learned how to develop qualitative research questions and analyze the data collected. My team gave back to Louisiana Tech University through community outreach. We taught safety to different organization throughout the campus. I was able to present our research at the Southeastern Council on Family Relations.

I worked with a family with blindness for four years. Daily, I brought the children to and from school and helped to make sure all daily household activities were prepared.

For one quarter, I served as a teaching assistant in the Early Childhood Education Center on Louisiana Tech University's campus. Every day, I was able to work one-on-one with three and four year old children, teaching fundamental skills. I specialized in a multitude of areas, including working with children with autism and language delays.
