A lawyer by trade, with experience in a range of financial services executive roles, including legal, operations and relationship management.Following practice at Clayton Utz, I benefited from time in the Regulatory Policy division of ASIC during a period of financial services regulatory regime reform.I then spent 12 years at AIA Australia. From General Counsel and head of Compliance and Company Secretariat, to COO, to running AIA Australia's end to end Group Insurance channel (product, pricing, distribution, claims, underwriting, admin). Finally, I accepted a 2-year appointment as CEO of AIA New Zealand. My family and I returned home to Australia in mid 2017 and I took up a role at MLC Life, sitting on the executive and then was promoted to manage all of Operations, with around 800 amazing people in my wider team. In this role, I worked across all levels of the business, with advisers, corporate and superannuation clients and regulators.In June 2020, I took on the role of Lead Ombudsman for Investments and Advice at AFCA, with a focus on fairness in the outcome of financial services disputes. Since January 2022, I am proud to hold the role of Lead Ombudsman, Banking & Finance.
