Based in the heart of Shoreditch, East London, Canvas is a new and exciting print design studio producing contemporary, exclusive prints for the global fashion industry. We have a vibrant team of designers with a wealth of experience in the fashion and textiles industry, ranging from swimwear to high fashion brands. Our collection is constantly evolving as new designs are added all the time. We strive to create a balance of intricate digital designs as well as hand produced, graphic, clean work within the collection. Covering a vast array of trends, we draw influence from the culture of London, catwalks, exhibitions and vintage finds. This allows us to produce quality artwork which reflects upcoming trends and ideas.

This position involved relocating to Stockholm. I embraced this opportunity fully, immersing myself in the local life, embracing Swedish culture and attending language lessons. In this role I am responsible for creating all prints for the Ladies swimwear collection at H&M. This involves researching and analysing print trends and new techniques to create the overall print picture for the season. My prints are consistently selected for use in other departments within H&M including Everyday Clothing Concept, which is the main line including a wide range of clothes, shoes, accessories and cosmetics.I am adept with using handpainting, drawings and original photographs to create the prints, and manipulating the drawing through Adobe Photoshop to create production ready designs. The print overview for each collection is presented using Adobe Illustrator. My prints are featured in worldwide swimwear campaigns on various media including global television adverts, billboards, buses and posters. These campaigns also include top fashion magazines such as Elle and fast fashion publications including Grazia and Look Magazine.As the sole Print Designer for Ladies Swimwear I had the opportunity to travel on research and inspiration trips to Australia, Turkey, London and Paris. This was a part of my job that I really enjoyed and would hope to incorporate further work based travel into a new role.

Sunshine Design is a company I started up to take on design commissions and to freelance design. I ran this company alongside my full time work at Westcott design. The work I produced was CAD Print design for Womens apparel.

Whilst at Westcott Design Print Studio I sold many print designs to worldwide fashion companies with Floral, Tropical and Animal Skin designs being my strength. I produced both hand-painted heat-pressed designs and CAD designs on silk for the Studio.I represented Westcott Design for Sales at ‘Premier Vision’ and ‘Directions’- The World's Premier Fabric Show - in Paris and New York respectively. I was frequently asked to present the studio’s designs in sales appointments around London and Europe. Acting as a mentor for aspiring designers I was asked to manage the student internships; this is something I embraced alongside my role as a designer.

My enthusiasm and talent in printed textile design was observed by my University tutor who endorsed my application to Brewster Design. Successful in my application I started here straight after graduation. I produced over 1000 screen printed designs using a wide range of fabrics and techniques such as Devoré (burn-outs), Discharge and Foil Prints. These designs sold in Europe, UK, USA, Australia and Japan. I had the responsibility of managing the Print room, ordering materials and maintaining equipment. I was also responsible for teaching the interns how to screen print designs and mix dyes and pigments.
