Currently, I am working remotely as a student worker. My projects include doing mail merges, connecting with possible new suppliers, and helping to coordinate a first-time donor card initiative. Over the summer, I worked primarily on-site to help the Volunteer Services department. This included supporting everyone on the team and working on a variety of tasks. Some of my projects included updating the internal website, scanning and uploading files, attending blood drives, and helping run project days. I also worked on an intern group project about Sickle Cell Disease and created the basis for a project that was taken on by a full-time team.

During my time at Sherwin-Williams, I worked primarily as an upfront worker. I helped both professional and DIY customers, having to know the difference between how to approach them. I further had some business training courses, learning about Profit and Loss Statements, having a couple of ride-along opportunities, and learning more about the business overall. I also worked on an intern group project proposing a DIY app to help with the ease of use and functionality for those who do not have as much of a knowledge base.

I worked at Culver’s for four years and was able to work my way up from employee to manager. I interacted with guests and helped if there was a problem. I also ran shifts and helped develop ideas to minimize possible issues while encouraging a healthy and positive work environment. Furthermore, I monitored food costs and labor costs and decided where to decrease some of these costs without losing quality and accuracy. Overall, I gained positive business experience and grew relationships with other employees and managers. I also learned how to interact with guests and helped to problem solve.
