* Co-founder and Steering Committee member of USAID’s One Health Working Group, which supports and elevates Agency approaches to address interconnected human, wild and domestic animal, and ecosystem health challenges. * Leads USAID’s Wild Meat Collaborative Learning Group that generates and shares evidence to address unsustainable demand for wild meat and connections to food security, health, and conservation. Developed a Wild Meat Case Study Collection and Wild Meat Programming Toolkit for USAID staff and implementing partners to expand and improve the effectiveness of integrated Agency investments. * Steering Committee member for the Health, Ecosystems, and Agriculture for Resilient, Thriving Societies (HEARTH), USAID’s portfolio of private sector partnerships for people and the planet. * Supports USAID missions in Central Africa, East Africa, and elsewhere in biodiversity program design, startup, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and learning. * Previously led communications for the Forestry and Biodiversity office, developing and implementing communications strategy, key messages, outreach and events. Led production and publication of annual Biodiversity Report to Congress, biodiversity stories on USAID flagship publications including Exposure and Medium as well as BiodiversityLinks and USAID.gov.

As the Coordinator of the Africa Biodiversity Collaborative Group, I facilitated collaboration between seven international conservation NGOs on their exploration of emerging and high priority issues affecting biodiversity conservation in Africa. This work includes designing, directing and managing large ABCG projects with partners and consultants, outreach and networking with conservation partners in the U.S. and in Africa and influencing policy makers and donors on key African conservation issues.The Africa Biodiversity Collaborative Group (ABCG) comprises seven U.S.-based international conservation non-governmental organizations (NGOs) with field programs in Africa. ABCG’s mission is to tackle complex and changing conservation challenges by catalyzing and strengthening collaboration, and bringing the best resources from across a continuum of conservation organizations to effectively and efficiently work toward this vision of Africa.

With Director and Executive Committee, leads programmatic, technical and administrative duties to support BCTF operations. Supports and collaborates with staff, consultants and Steering Committee. Responsible for program development, coordination, planning and implementation of operations. Develops and fundraises for operational and programmatic budget. Oversees general administration and technical development of BCTF programs. Communicates with global network including public, media, key decision maker, and professional use. Leads policy and outreach programs targeting bushmeat in the U.S., development of African community focus groups and policy roundtables with government and NGO collaborators. Fosters discourse and collaboration with the international development sector. Collaborates with SC and staff to prepare manuscripts for publication.

Led key BCTF areas of education and awareness programs in the U.S. and in Africa. Developed education and outreach materials for US and global audiences including the Bushmeat Education Resource Guide and the Bushmeat Promise. Developed and implemented bushmeat capacity building programs in African Wildlife Colleges (Cameroon, Tanzania and South Africa). Fundraised and managed grants (including grants of $300,000 from WWF-US and $150,000 from USAID). Worked with myriad stakeholders to develop and implement public awareness efforts in Central Africa.

Developed Bushmeat Education Project for Secondary Schools participating in Roots & Shoots, an environmental and humanitarian program for young people. Wrote lesson plans, worked with teachers and Roots & Shoots club leaders and tested lessons with pilot audiences. Provided support to other Roots & Shoots activities in Dar es Salaam and Kigoma regions.
