As a public relations account coordinator I helped with the organization of accounts. I created media kits, media lists and pitches, reported on media monitoring and drafted client-ready emails. As a communications assistant I help with restaurant's promotions, social media and internal communications. I have helped plan and execute numerous events. Our most successful being "Dunk Dave." We decided that dunking the owner in a dunk tank would be a great way to raise money for the OSPCA and to welcome Spring. I also offer advice on how to create and excel our brand on social media. I assist with Facebook posts and monitor our interactions.

Kelsey's was in need of an Assistant Manager throughout the summer. I was asked to fill a position until a full-time assistant manager was found. During this time, I helped with inventory, meetings and assisted front-of-house staff with questions and concerns.

As a server I build communication, organization and strategic skills. I am dealing with the public for many hours at a time, with the intent to deliver superb customer service, the aforementioned skills become exercised. I work in an industry where first impressions are so imperative that they constitute my income. As a result, verbal and physical communication are skills which I hone and perfect on a daily basis.

I held multiple roles while in this unique setting. I was able to work towards a degree requirement while being considered an intern. My roles were as follows: chair person, marketing, promotions, book launch and event planning, event fundraising, Master of Ceremony for book launch. Other duties included editing and design of John Wing Jr.'s poetry collection, Why Shaped Scars.
