I was responsible for implementing and developing the Teesside Sport Volunteering Project. The project specifically focused on the personal development and employability of all volunteer students wanting to work within the sports sector. This was achieved through developing and applying a hands on 1-2-1 personal development planning and mentoring process with each student that addressed personal aims and objectives and allowed the students hands on experience they required. A major part of the post involved partnership working with the local school sports structure to help increase provision of coaching in schools by placement of student coaches, and the hosting of school sport competitions on campus. This allowed the student coaches to gain valuable experience within both coaching and event planning and management.
