This event seeing over 6,000 student athletes participate in 31 sports over a week of competition. Responsible for the delivery of the Sport Australia funded UniSport MyWay program which aims to engage over 30,000 currently dis-engaged participants in easy to access, low cost activity across 30 universities in Australia.

I was responsible for implementing and developing the Teesside Sport Volunteering Project. The project specifically focused on the personal development and employability of all volunteer students wanting to work within the sports sector. This was achieved through developing and applying a hands on 1-2-1 personal development planning and mentoring process with each student that addressed personal aims and objectives and allowed the students hands on experience they required. A major part of the post involved partnership working with the local school sports structure to help increase provision of coaching in schools by placement of student coaches, and the hosting of school sport competitions on campus. This allowed the student coaches to gain valuable experience within both coaching and event planning and management.

Mixed zone team member, responsible for the efficient running of the Mixed zone area and facilitating the written press' needs throughout the event. Escorting medal winners to press conference and medal ceremonies whilst adhering to a strict time table and schedule.

An elected post as an Officer Trustee of the Students Union. Carry out the obligations of a trustee in respects to the development and the welfare of the students union, its members and finances. This post enabled me to develop an understanding of the managerial requirements of a business, strategic planning, budgeting and financial management, policy and procedure as well as the constitutional bindings and democratic structure of a Students Union. Responsible for over 50 clubs and societies at the Union that serviced the needs of the student members. The role involved large scale event planning (inter universities competitions, international sports tours and formal events), budgeting, club/society development planning and student mentoring, amongst many other responsibilities.
