I worked for years in retail as a makeup artist out of college. I moved from Pittsburgh, PA, to NYC to broaden my horizons for my career. I put some feelers out for roles outside of retail and soon after, I was given a chance as a project coordinator. I thrived in this role and knew this was the right track for me. As I moved up, I looked for roles that would help me develop my skills further and that's when I received a call from Park Insurance regarding an application I made for a role they were hiring for-perfect, I thought! When I started at the company, I was tasked with taking the temperature of the organization. I quickly learned a ton about commercial auto insurance and how the company ran. I even learned how and why each department did what they did, and I started suggesting procedural changes and software upgrades. I established a reputation as the “go-do/can-do” professional who could provide the correct answer to any query. This skill has served me well as I rose through the ranks over a six and a half year span. My responsibilities included supervising a staff of 36 and collaborating with IT to automate systems and protocols to expedite processes to generate more significant results. I also lead cross-functional process improvement initiatives while continually exploring new avenues for improving business and operational processes, workflows, and KPIs for overall excellence in the quality of services we deliver.Some examples of the results I’ve generated include:1. Posted a $210K savings, which accounted for a 20% reduction in overhead.2. Improved claims-intake processing time from three days to 24 hours. 3. Increased settlement results 62% by quickly processing problematic and high-exposure cases. 4.
