🔵 Managed team of volunteers to lead this centre for community members who were affected by complex social issues. 🔵 Engaged with community members, schools, health, law enforcement, local government and community agencies and the media to understand needs, advocate for and achieve outcomes for the community that reflected their needs.🔵 Co-founded and led the inaugural Campaspe Family Violence Action Group (which continues) applying a strong advocacy and co-design methodology. Leveraged networking and stakeholder engagement skills to engage high-profile family violence ambassador and advocate Rosie Batty to raise awareness in the region. Developed a local champions approach to addressing family violence in the region, especially men, through the Apex Club and other local groups.The Campaspe Family Violence Action Group drives coordination between services and seeks to prevent family violence through evidence-based action based on gender inequality across the community.🔵 Established the Echuca South Youth Action Group in response to identified community need and empowered local young people to meet with the local member of parliament to present the issues that affect them. Echuca South has an over-representation of families and individuals living with multiple experiences of disadvantage and oppression. The action group hosted an unprecedented local event for two hundred children, young people, and their families, created a mural in the park adjoining the Community Centre and lobbied local government for proportionate resources to be allocated to Echuca South.🔵 Designed and delivered family violence training for local media in conjunction with Women’s Health Victoria, resulting in more appropriate, local reporting of family violence.
