Excellent feedback from the FD on my attitude and quick turnaround of *I instigated a deep dive on all discretionary cost lines within the areas I supported, which resulted in a £2m+ cost saving over a period of 2 years

• Led, managed and developed a team of 3 FTE.• Ownership, management and analysis of cost base,FTE, Income and full P&L (£400m+) for Birmingham Midshires (BM) Mortgage business.• Provided high quality customer service to the Director of Mortgages, Head of Finance,FD and BM MD. Communicated ongoing results through different mediums, including attending the monthly BM Mortgage Board meeting and presenting the full P&L to that audience.• Ownership and production of BM's Mortgage P&L at month end and forecasting, including value added commentary on each line.• Ownership, development and production of Mortgages monthly Key Performance Report (KPR) and full MI pack, which incorporated both financial and non-financial information.• Budgeting and planning – as per above role.Also responsible for producing BM's Mortgage Income plans at the lowest level of detail.• Intermediary Sales Management Information-responsible for developing and producing the daily, weekly, monthly suite of MI reports for the Sales teams, which included Sales by BDM, by product, by postcode, by broker and monthly Sales leagues. I then used these to calculate the monthly commission to be paid to each individual.• Selected by the Finance Director to take part in the BM/HBOS Management Development Programme. Developed to equip future business leaders with the necessary skills to lead, shape and drive the business as it evolves. Only 12 candidates from across the business were picked each year.• Projects – represented Finance in any Mortgage related projects, including managing project workstreams/FTE, developing action/testing plans, reporting on project progress, motivate project team members to ensure deadlines are met, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory reporting.• Financial guidance – to my customers on a variety of subjects such as completing purchase orders, paying invoices, treatment of transactions under UK GAAP and IFRS, accruals and prepayments, budgeting.

Provided high quality customer service to the Mortgage team's budget holders and communicate the ongoing results to these stakeholders and their teams via variance reports, analysis and monthly meetings.• Produced the Mortgages monthly Key Performance Report (KPR) which incorporated both financial and non-financial information, such as Mortgages PBT, Sales volume, margin and fee income analysis, costs, productivity measures, SLA's and money laundering compliance. This also included value added commentary of the month's results and numerous charts and graphs to help visualise the results and help management make informed decisions.• Budgeting and planning – produced detailed cost, capital and FTE budgets for the Mortgage teams I supported, through sitting down with each budget holder and using key assumptions and guidelines.• Developed a new forecasting model for BM's Mortgage Operation teams. Using lending targets, cost and productivity assumptions such as cases processed per day per FTE, average salaries, number of hours worked etc. to produce more accurate FTE and cost budgets for a substantial area of the mortgage business. Created opportunity to monitor efficiency, identify improvements and benchmark against similar departments in the group.• Financial control – updated and maintained cost centre and account code structures on BM's own ledger system. Analysed ledgers at cost centre level, preparation and posting of accruals, prepayments and transfers.
