My role has focused predominantly on the full renovation of a large family home, spatially reconfigured and extended at basement level and into the loft. My remit has included coordinating of information from external contractors, production information for the contractor and spatial planning and interior design information for contractor and client consultation.

My responsibilities extended to several projects in China in collaboration with Edinburgh based architects, Sutherland and Hussey. At schematic stage a high profile media project in excess of 630k m2 valued at 7b RMB and a conceptual proposal for a Scottish Creative Village in Beijing.My main focus was on Chengdu Museum, a 70k m2 project costing 700m RMB situated on the western edge of Chengdu’s Tianfu Square. This project rapidly developed my professional skills by being charged to manage, coordinate and develop the design strategy for the interior and landscape alongside the Beijing project architect. Regular and close communication between partners, client, consultants and internal departments ensured the best possible solution. The experience at this practice offered me opportunities to overcome challenges of language barriers and to better understand working practice and design culture in China.
