Microlokii interlocking-AC track circuits, AZLM axle counters)This project consists of a new stretch of railway spanning 300km from Ipoh to the Thai border. It is complete new works testing with no previous system in place the trains are currently using track routes which are “controlled” by a token system. The Microlokii testing is similar to Westrace, with reference to the actual interlocking tests of inputs/outputs cards. I have now participated in the successful commissioning of three stations whilst here in Malaysia. My usual responsibilities on this project applied.-Testing of Signals-Testing of points-Setting to work axle counters-Setting to work track circuits-Functional testing of interlocking-Loading data/checking data-Verification of bonding plans-Panel testing-Cable testingThis project has confronted me with many challenges such as, the overwhelming heat, language barriers, distance between access points, and lack of staff. With that being said I feel my leadership skills are stronger than ever and my overall testing knowledge has improved once again

Thales, London (01.06.09- 01.06.11)Seltrack/LUL legacy track circuits/Axle counters (secondary system)I was offered a job position by Thales, London as a Verification tester to start work for the T&C department, I was assigned to work on the Jubilee line, as part of a team we would test various assets and signaling systems on a nightly basis. During my time at Thales I progressed very quickly through the relevant courses and qualifications. On a majority of shifts I would be responsible for a small team, a detailed work package would be left each night, and it was my responsibility to direct the team, and ensure that we complete the work as efficiently as possible.Since starting at Thales I learnt a lot and advanced my skills and knowledge once again. I am confident with my engineering capabilities and now seek to progress and take on more responsibilities and challenges. I have continued to build on work experience evidence for my IRSE logbook over the past 6 years.Site person in charge (S.P.C)In addition to my testing role, I would often take the role of SPC, I would arrange protection services to meet us at different stations around London so that we can access the track in a safe manner, If I felt that our safety was in jeopardy at any point during the shift, I would act accordingly and cancel the work. I take this role very seriously, as one mistake-is one mistake too many.

Since commencing employment at Westinghouse I was trained as an installer, as part of a highly regarded team responsible for the design and build of complex railway signalling systems, I learnt all my key knowledge and skills of the industry, which I developed over the following years. I was also involved in a lot of site work over this period of time.During my career at Westinghouse (Chippenham), I was responsible for the production, build and installations of various signalling equipment. I would independently wire and build these systems by use of the appropriate drawings and manuals. Often the design would be complex and unique, in these situations I would liaise with the designers and use innovation techniques to create a working prototype model. I am familiar and experienced with a comprehensive range of tools. The following list gives an insight to the various types of signalling equipment I have engineered and built whilst employed by Westinghouse. I have been individually trained on the build and installation of the following products.• SSI Interlocking, TFM, LDT, DL modules etc.• Location cases to Network Standards.• Box 5• Relay systems and ser installations.• REBs, Installations for Network Rail and Overseas.
