I have over 14 years academic laboratory experience studying various forms of cancer and the tumor microenvironment, which has allowed me to master several skills including mammalian cell culture, FACS, ELISA, qPCR, western blotting, and primary cell differentiation/activation. In my previous role as a Postdoctoral Associate in the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University, I studied the role of low grade glioma mutations and oncometabolites in immunosuppression of T cell populations. This allowed me to expand my expertise to in vivo protocols as well as grow my mentoring and leadership skills by acting as lead on the project and training others in the protocols I've used. I am currently working for United Therapeutics Corporation as an Associate Scientist in their Regenerative Medicine Lab. My overall career goal is to be a Research Scientist/PI with my own team of researchers working towards novel diagnostics and therapeutic avenues.
